Nel centro storico di Montecosaro le case entro le mura di cinta hanno tutte una grotta di tufo. Tutte collegate tra loro, arrivano fin sotto la piazza del paese. Fondamentali durante la guerra come riparo dai bombardamenti, in seguito i passaggi sono stati nuovamente murati per rispettare la proprietà dei vari privati. La nostra grotta del 1200 pur essendo di arenaria e argilla è molto solida grazie all’umidità e alla temperatura costante che si aggira sui 17°.
Ricavata all’interno dei sotterranei dell’antico ex palazzo Garulli, ora Palazzo Bartolini, in cui si trova l’Hotel di charme la Luma di Montecosaro, nel cuore della regione Marche, questa suggestiva grotta di tufo offre un’atmosfera unica e speciale.
La nostra grotta tufacea si trova al piano terra dell’hotel, tra la zona soggiorno e la sala colazioni.

In the historic centre of Montecosaro, all the houses within the ancient walls feature a tuff stone chamber. Originally interconnected, these passages once reached beneath the village square. During wartime, they served as essential shelters from bombings; later, the passages were walled off to respect private property. Our 13th-century tuff stone chamber, made of sandstone and clay, remains remarkably solid thanks to its humidity and constant temperature of around 17°C.
Carved within the basement of the former Garulli Palace—now Palazzo Bartolini, home to La Luma Boutique Hotel in the heart of the Marche region—this evocative tuff stone chamber offers a truly unique and atmospheric experience.
Our tuff stone chamber is located on the ground floor of the hotel, between the lounge area and the breakfast room.
